What the Age of Aries Means

The Age of Aries brought the warrior archetype to dominance, transforming human civilization through conquest, individual heroism, and the revolutionary concept of monotheism. Ruled by Mars, this era was defined by the Iron Age, the rise of great empires built through military might, and the emergence of individual leaders as divine or semi-divine figures. Alexander the Great, the Roman legions, the Spartan warriors, all embodied Aries' courage and combativeness. Spiritually, the shift from polytheism toward monotheism reflected Aries' insistence on singular authority. Moses leading the Israelites away from the golden calf (Taurus) toward a single God epitomizes the age transition. Ram imagery pervaded religion: the ram of Abraham, the Amon-Ra with ram horns, the shofar horn. The concept of the individual hero, Achilles, Gilgamesh, Samson, replaced the collective consciousness of earlier ages. Iron weapons and tools transformed both warfare and agriculture. This was humanity's adolescence: bold, impulsive, conquering, and absolutely certain of its own righteousness in the face of opposition.
